"\u003cdiv class=\"caseStudyPopup\"\u003e\u003ch1\u003eTASTY Foods\u003c/h1\u003e\u003cdiv class=\"content\"\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe Company\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eTASTY FOODS is the largest salty snack producer in Greece, member of the world known salty snacks “family” FRITO LAY (member of the multinational organization PepsiCo).\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eThe company produces and trades potato chips and a wide series (shapes and flavors) of extruded salty snacks, based on corn, while it imports and sells the very successful corn snack, Doritos.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eThe Need\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eThe company needed to replace 12 extruders of outdated technology with a new super modern system, which would solve essential operational and factory layout problems, while at the same time it would positively affect the operational cost and the final product quality.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eThe Approach\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eBPM designed and elaborated an investment feasibility study, for TASTY FOODS, for the installation of a new production line improving the flexibility of the whole extruded products production system, in the framework of the Greek Development Law (Article 23b, L.2234/94). The study was conducted in 1997, simultaneously with the implementation of the Company’s Business Plan (project also undertaken by BPM) and right after the Company’s relocation to its new factory site, to Ag. Stefanos, Attiki. BPM also supported the Company during the implementation of the project, performing all the necessary monitoring and project management processes (with the use of custom made monitoring data bases), especially during the audits performed by the Ministry of Development.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eThe Result\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eThe project was approved by the Ministry of Development (total budget: ~ €1.5 million), successfully implemented and resulted in:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ethe increase of the extruded products’ line flexibility,\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ethe solution of essential operational problems of the previous production infrastructure,\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ethe integration of the extruded products’ production systems,\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ethe increase of the Company’s competitiveness in the domestic as well as the international salty snacks market,\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ethe achievement of better and more consistent product quality level,\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ethe achievement of greater flexibility in production planning, and consequently in demand satisfaction, as well as\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ethe reduction of the production cost per product unit, resulting in increased market penetration, in domestic and international target-markets.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ul\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\u003c/div\u003e"
